New Bears!!  Danny spent some time last summer studying "realism" and learned to carve a new style of bear.  The new style bear has a more realistic look to it and he is not burning these ones dark.  The result is a lighter looking grizzly type bear. See for your self !

Welcome to Mountain Peak Creations!  Official website of chainsaw artist Danny Peterson.  Danny specializes in anything chainsaw!  He designs and creates custom carvings of animals: bears, eagles, and fish (to name a few), benches that incorporate carvings, signs, woodspirits, totem poles etc.

He has also made custom furniture out of diamond willow such as benches, beds, coat trees, candle holders and lamps.  You dream it, he'll carve it!

Danny is always learning and experimenting with new techniques and tools and constantly studying new forms.  The beautiful mountain scenery of the Rocky Mountains he lives in and the abundant wildlife in the area keep him inspired.  Danny carves with "found" wood that is generally cedar so he never cuts down a live tree to make any carvings.  Occasionally in the past he has used spruce that has been salvaged from golf courses or yards.  He prefers the cedar for its resistance to weather and insects.

Each piece Danny carves is unique and original, no two carvings are ever alike due to the characteristics of the wood and the detail Danny puts into them.

Carvings are treated with a natural colour Sikkens Door and Window stain to help seal and protect the wood from the suns UV rays and to keep the carving looking fresh.

See our Care section for more details.

Danny is available to demonstrate the art of chainsaw carving at your event, fair or festival, grand openings or any other promotional events.  Demo.'s typically take between 45 to 60 minutes and are done behind protective netting so onlookers are safe to watch his captivating, high energy performance.  Check out our Demo. page for more information.
