Some commonly asked questions:
1. Do you sell online? Why are there no prices?
Not at this time as Danny's carvings are always changing. The pictures on the website are samples of what he has carved. Please call or email if there is something specific you are interested in.
2. Why is there large cuts down the back of some of the carvings?
This is called a "relief" carve and is done in carvings out of a full log. This allows the wood to expand and contract as it needs to without causing a large check in the log.
3. How long will my carving last?
Your carving should last forever! All Danny's carvings are done out of cedar which means the wood is naturally bug and rot resistant. As well he uses a high quality Sikkens finish which protects the wood from the suns UV rays.
4. What kind of maintenance will my carving need?
Very little, with the Sikkens finish Danny uses you should only have to touch it up every few years or longer depending where the carving is (full sun or not). Please refer to our "care tips" page for information on caring for you carving.
5. How long does it take to carve a piece?
Depending on the size of the log it could take a day or two to rough carve and then another couple of days to detail and finish.
